Can Arda Guler Survive Madrid Competition

Fans following Bangla Cricket Live are already imagining Vinicius Junior linking up with Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham controlling the midfield and Diomande Yan adding another dangerous option in attack. On paper, Real Madrid’s forward line looks powerful enough to overwhelm almost any opponent. Yet the player most likely to be pushed toward the sidelines may be the Turkish playmaker who built real momentum for the club last season: Arda Guler.

The situation becomes clearer when the leading contenders are considered. Vinicius, Mbappe, Bellingham, Diomande Yan and Guler are all viewed as important members of the first-team attacking group. Guler produced impressive numbers last season, making 51 appearances and starting 40 of them. He recorded six goals and 14 assists while also developing an effective understanding with Mbappe in several important matches.

Guler further strengthened his reputation by scoring twice across the games against Bayern Munich. Those performances significantly increased confidence in his ability to deliver on the biggest stage. However, Real Madrid’s squad has changed during the summer, and competition for attacking places is now more unforgiving than ever.

The club’s current tactical direction appears to favour a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Bellingham widely regarded as the leading candidate for the central number ten role. At the same time, Endrick’s return and the arrival of Diomande Yan have created an overcrowded attacking department. Real Madrid may have plenty of firepower, but there are only so many minutes to go around.

For Guler, the main question is not whether he has enough technical quality. It is who will define his position within the team. If Bellingham becomes the undisputed creative leader behind the striker, Guler may be forced to compete for minutes elsewhere. If the coaching staff adopts a more flexible rotation system, however, the Turkish international could remain heavily involved throughout the season.

Viewers who divide their attention between Bangla Cricket Live and European football will recognise why Guler remains such an exciting talent. He is excellent at producing the final pass in the attacking third, while his vision and ability to play through defensive lines allow him to combine quickly with forwards such as Mbappe. His composure in high-pressure matches also suggests that his mentality is already comparable to that of several more experienced teammates.

Even so, Guler still has weaknesses commonly associated with a young attacking midfielder. He needs to become stronger in physical challenges, improve his defensive coverage and show greater positional discipline. In a system that demands contributions at both ends of the pitch, those shortcomings can quickly be placed under the microscope.

The most likely outcome is that Guler remains at Real Madrid and becomes a frequently used rotation player. By maintaining consistent performances, he could earn more minutes and establish himself as someone capable of changing a match when the team needs a different approach. His creativity would make him particularly valuable against compact defensive sides.

A loan move offering regular starts is another possible outcome, although it appears less likely. Such an arrangement could protect his long-term value while giving him the continuous playing time needed to develop physically and tactically. The least likely possibility is that he becomes permanently marginalised or is sold, but that risk cannot be completely dismissed if he struggles to meet the intensity and tactical demands of the new system.

To avoid that scenario, Guler must first focus on his fitness and physical strength. A specialised programme involving resistance work and controlled contact training would help him cope with stronger opponents. He must also improve his recovery runs and positional discipline to show the coaching staff that he is more than an attacking luxury.

Building stronger combinations with Bellingham and Vinicius during training could be equally important. Rather than treating Bellingham only as a direct rival, Guler should demonstrate that the two can operate together in a flexible attacking structure. Developing that partnership could open another route into the starting lineup and give Real Madrid more tactical variety.

Set pieces may provide another opportunity. Guler already has the technique to deliver dangerous free kicks and corners, and improving his direct contribution in those situations could make him harder to leave out. When competition is this fierce, every advantage counts, and he must pull out all the stops to become indispensable.

From Real Madrid’s perspective, squad depth is both protection during a long season and an investment in future value. Keeping several elite young attackers creates selection challenges, but it also gives the club options when injuries, fatigue or changes in form begin to affect the team. For supporters, short-term concern over Guler’s role is understandable, although his long-term potential still deserves patience.

Fans checking Bangla Cricket Live alongside Real Madrid’s preseason schedule should not assume that Guler has been permanently forgotten. He is instead entering a defining period in which he must adapt quickly and continue evolving. The preseason campaign and the opening rounds of European competition will provide the first real clues about his future, while every change between the starting lineup and the bench will reveal how strongly he figures in the club’s plans.
