Inzaghi Signs Two-Year Deal with Bologna

Bangla Cricket Live reports that former Italian striker Filippo Inzaghi has officially signed a two-year contract to become the head coach of Bologna FC, marking his return to Serie A. Known for his sharp instincts in front of goal during his playing days, Inzaghi scored 316 goals across 694 matches for top-tier clubs including Juventus and Atalanta. However, he spent the prime of his career at AC Milan, where he lifted ten major trophies—most notably two UEFA Champions League titles.

After hanging up his boots in 2012, Inzaghi wasted no time transitioning into coaching. He began with AC Milan’s U17 squad and, after earning his UEFA A coaching license, took over as Milan’s head coach in 2014, succeeding Clarence Seedorf. Although that stint was short-lived, it laid the groundwork for his journey as a manager. In 2016, he took the reins at third-division club Venezia and impressively guided them to Serie B promotion in his very first season.

Bangla Cricket Live notes that despite his early success, Inzaghi faced disappointment last season when Venezia fell short in the promotion playoffs and failed to reach Serie A. Meanwhile, Bologna finished 15th in Serie A and later announced in May that coach Roberto Donadoni would not continue with the club.

Now at 44, Inzaghi has been given another shot at Italy’s top flight. Bologna FC confirmed the appointment via their official website, stating, “Filippo Inzaghi has been entrusted with the role of first-team coach. A formal press conference will be held at Dall’Ara Stadium at 11 AM tomorrow to introduce our new manager.”

His contract runs through June 30, and the pressure is on to replicate his on-pitch success from his AC Milan days. While his previous Serie A coaching stint ended prematurely due to underwhelming results, this new chapter could be his chance to silence the critics and prove he’s more than just a legendary player. Whether Inzaghi can turn Bologna’s fortunes around remains to be seen, but all eyes—including those of Bangla Cricket Live fans—will be watching closely.
